Follow the steps below in order to deactivate (or delete) default Side Modules that comes loaded in the default Canvas installation:
  1. Login to your Canvas Administration area
  2. Go to "Extensions > Module Manager"
  3. Find and select the modules you want to disable (or delete), and click on the appropriate button at the top right of the page to "Disable" or "Delete".
You can filter modules by name, since several modules have its name displayed on the website, or you can filter by "position" and "type". For example, if your module is posted to the left column of your site, you can select that position from the dropdown and only modules published there will be displayed. You should also refer to the default template positions diagram and become familiar with the different templates available to you on the standard Canvas installation.
